"Blooming Heck's self-titled debut record is a garage pop odyssey. It fuses the indie-pop-rock of groups like the Breeders, the Go-Go’s, Tegan and Sarah, and Chastity Belt, with the eclecticism of Ween, Talking Heads, Todd Rundgren, and Ariel Pink. The band members, Katherine and Robert Simpson, were the rhythm section of Australian cult indie group the Triangles, who scored a top-10 single in Spain in 2010 after their song ‘Applejack’ was used in a television beer commercial."
Bury The Dead
Launching in Melbourne...
Sunday 19th November at the Workers Club, Fitzroy
Melbourne garage-pop group BLOOMING HECK are positively psyched to be launching their self-titled debut album of rocking indie hits and electro pop bangers. They were previously recording and gigging as 'Human Woman' until the Icelandic group of the same name said no, they didn't want to share, and would be very cross if it wasn't changed. Don't miss Blooming Heck's massive album launch gig!
First support on the night is from THE TRIANGLES. The Triangles are reuniting for the first time in seven years, and it will be ten years since they launched their final album. The Triangles were a cult indie pop group on the local Melbourne scene in the mid-2000's and they will be bringing back their distinctive stage antics to amuse and delight themselves, and potentially the audience as well.
Second support is from the cover band you never knew you always needed in your life, THEME TEAM. Theme Team play delightfully accurate and energetic covers of all your favourite 80s and 90s TV show themes. They will quickly whisk you back to a time when you had no cares or responsibilities in the world, other than to watch after school cartoons and annoy your older brother.
Doors from 7:30pm
The Triangles - 8.00pm
Theme Team - 9.00pm
Blooming Heck - 10.00pm
