The MP3's are Sydney's latest exponents of the "no-guitar-lo-tech-hi-fi-I-make-love-to-my-analogue-synth-DJ-&- a-coupla-chicks-have-computer-and-Pro-Tools" bandwagon. So says their bio. The MP3's have sent a three track demo titled Happy Camper and it's full of songs mainly about sex, dicks, sexual innuendo and TV. Irreverent and fun, all songs are a great listen and makes you want to hear more from the MP3's. MP3s
The band consists of ex-Nancy Vandal members Gilli Pepper and Eddie Cheddah plus their buddy Roffy Roxit. "Choc full of blipping noises, bad samples and incessant TV talk, Happy Camper takes the listener on a journey through the best moments in daytime television, variety shows and easy listening music over the last couple of decades" their bio continues. The pick of the bunch is 'Come Down Blues', which has a great groove, sexy vocals, an even sexier chorus and a glam riff that sounds like Marc Bolan filtered through a computer speaker. Would love to see them play live but they say they're too busy watching re-runs of Days Of Our Lives. -SH
