The rumours of Smudge’s demise have been greatly exaggerated. With an average of at least 3.75 shows a year since 2001, new songs, a bout of reissues, live appearances in four time zones across two hemispheres and a new album slated for January next year, the slacker pop trio are admittedly “firing on all cylinders”.
In support of their “best of” compilation This Smudge Is True, Smudge will hit the road in October for their first Australian tour since 1999. The tour follows their second stint in Europe, 16 years after their first.
Out now through Half A Cow Records, This Smudge Is True features 27 tracks handpicked by the band and a 36 page booklet including a track-by-track commentary and never-before published photos.
