The Hallrunners

“They’re mysterious. It jangles! Fun, pop rock n roll and power pop!” – 2SER Chimes

From ‘somewhere in England’ and around the time of late 70s skinny ties with sandshoes and leather jackets come The Hallrunners and their ‘concept single’ all about the highs and (mainly) lows of high school. Track one “The Clumsy Boys” takes you to what they call the public school system in the UK and the awkward early days of young love and class clowns. The second track “Detention! Suspended! Expelled!” is pretty self-expanatory. Miss class, smoke a cone or hide in the cupboard and you’ll get a detention (or worse) slapped in your face.

Musically, the band can’t decide where they sit: Post Punk. Garage Rock. Power Pop. Any of those will do. The only thing they agree on is to keep the songs short and catchy, turn the guitars up and sing it like you mean it.
