With Me – third single from The Dairy Joys. Album out in 2026.

“With Me” was a b-side on Club Hoy’s first single in 1990, written by Penny Flanagan and Julie Richardson. Nic – who did live sound for Club Hoy at the time – fell in love with the song when he first heard the test pressing the band gave him. “With Me” features Jonathan Nix, who passed away in December 2023, on the cigar box guitar and we dedicate this song to him.

“And Then There Was One” is one of three or four songs Nic has written about the Brothers Gibb.

Wishful Thinking

The debut single by the new band formed by Nic Dalton out of the ashes of his previous act The Gloomchasers. It has been fourteen years since the last album of Nic’s songs (if you don’t count the bubblegum outfit The Sticker Club and the psychedelic four-tracks of Chewee) which was the Gloomchasers album Play All Night. The Gloomchasers morphed from bluegrass/folkrock into a regular guitar/keyboard-based band so a name change made sense, hence The Dairy Joys.

With the album due out late 2025, here is “Wishful Thinking”, featuring Leticia Nischang on lead vocals, Nic Dalton and Elmo Reed on guitars, Luke Russell on bass, John Encarnacao on keyboards and Peter Velzen on drums. Nic and Pete previously played together in the Plunderers and this is their first recording since the late 80s. Nic and Elmo started playing music together even before that…in 1983.
