The Girl Who Sold The World

– featuring Nicola Schultz-

Nicola Schultz was the bassplayer and sometimes vocalist in Sydney band Swirl, the band who soared with releases such as The Last Unicorn and Aurora.

After Swirl, and before putting out her solo albums, Nicola tinkered with the idea of having a band, hence the recordings she did with members of The New Christs. During the sessions, someone mentioned that The Girl Who Sold The World would be a great band name!

Nicola says: “These gentlemen did me a favour by coming in to record the session at Damien Gerard Studios. I was grateful for their time out from The New Christs which I knew they were all committed to back then.”

The Blue Songs EP is a 5-track archival release through Half A Cow Records under the band name ‘The Girl Who Sold The World (featuring Nicola Schultz).

Nicola Schultz: Vocals, Guitar

“My brother, Stephen and I enjoyed collaborating on this music video once again. We wanted to reflect the live raw feel of the recording, so have included never before seen footage from my last performance with Swirl in Brisbane. I am grateful to Mish Vlasak for filming this last gig on a VHS C Video Camcorder and also to Ben & David who are happy to appear in this video.” – Nicola
