Bore me to the Moon is the second single from mysterious Norwegian duo. They were so chuffed by the ‘success’ of I Poke Bears they went back into the studio to record some more classic indie rock, which suits Half A Cow just fine! They even got the song mastered at Abbey Road.
Bonded by the love of Steely Dan, Tom Petty, CCR, the Shaggs, “Trashy Dog” by Terry Manning, Sham 69, Bobby Bare (“Drop Kick Me Jesus”), The Loved Ones, Rick Springfield and cheap perfume, Ivar and Tommy have been mates for roundabout 22 years.
Ivar says, “So, Tommy buggered off to Italy with his family. Leaving me to do all the heavy lifting. I put on Green Riverand grind on. About a week ‘n’ change to go before we get the number two song out there to the 386 checking us out on Spotify. We will release something on vinyl, but damn, it takes time. ‘Bore me to the Moon’ is a love song about how much you love somebody the days when all ain’t cozy and cool. In my case, my with Irene.
We meet up about twice a year. We eat good, we drink good and get kicked downstairs by my wife. There we make a song and record it, before we pass out. We’ve made three, but the first one needs some TLC so let’s say 2.5.”
Ivar looks out the window, shakes his head and smiles. “In about three-four years we’ll have an album.”
