Sixties-influenced tunes draped in layers of guitars and harmonies, the songs in Luke’s collection Upbeat Downbeat are drawn from the five records he has released through Half A Cow Records. Two solo albums and one each from The Proposition (featuring Murray ‘Wiggle’ Cook and Peter ‘Widdershins’ Timmerman), You & Your So-Called Friends and The Wayward Doves. Like his sister Sally Seltmann, Luke writes about love and loss, highlighting the sad, the funny, the pathetic and the uplifting – you know, your life.
